LOGGING IN:
RedlightPoker is pleased that you have chosen us for you Poker
experience, and getting started is as simple as 1-2-3.
1) Download the software from http://www.redlightpoker.com/.
2) Follow the downloading instructions.
3) Create your RedlightPoker account, Login, and begin playing.
PLAY-FOR-FUN MODE LOGIN:
Once you double-click on the RedlightPoker icon on your Desktop,
a “Login/Sign Up” screen will pop up. Just click
on the “Sign Up-Open Account” button to create your
new account. When creating a Play-For-Fun Mode account, the only
two fields you have to fill in are your preferred Username and
your email address.
You will then be taken to the RedlightPoker Lobby with a display that will
show you all the games you may join and play. Use the tabs at the top to select
the desired Play-For-Fun Mode. The display will then allow you to choose
from Omaha, Hold'em, and all your other favorites, including Tournaments.
Click once on a game to view the players at that game, and double-click
a game to be taken to the Table where you can watch or choose
to sit down and play.
When you sit down to play, a Pop-up will appear requesting how much Play
Money you want to begin with. Choose the amount you want, submit, and begin
playing. It's that easy!
That's probably enough to get you started, but those who like their instructions
a little more detailed, read on...
THE LOBBY:
Once you're logged into the Poker Software, the first thing you'll see is
The Lobby. To the first time visitor it might look a little daunting, but
don't worry, it's pretty straightforward. Here, hold my hand and we'll go
through it.

1. The "My Account" option lets you set up your
FREE RedlightPoker account or view an existing account. You'll get to the
same place if you click the "My Account" button at the top of every
RedlightPoker web page. Not only does setting up an account at RedlightPoker
give you access to the games, but it also lets you post in our All-in Lounge
forum AND visit my friends The RLP Gals, in their gallery!
2. Play for free in our Poker rooms, and in the many Freerolls
& free Tournaments we hold in the “Tournaments” rooms. If
you’ve been exceptionally good this year, maybe you’ll get lucky
and win one of the many comfy cabins on the World
Poker Showdown Caribbean Cruise!
3. Click the Game Tabs (e.g. Hold’em) to view current
active tables available for each type of game.
4. Okay, there are a few things here worth looking at:
- The Table column lists every table vertically, indicating which games
are currently available.
- The Stakes column indicates the limit stakes being played at each table.
The games range from $3/$6 to $10/$20.
- The Players column indicates the number of players currently seated at
each Poker table.
- The Average Pot (Avg. Pot) column indicates the average pot size over
the past 20 hands.
5. And again, a few things to mention:
- "Join Table" allows you to join a table you've highlighted
above. You can also go to or join a table by double-clicking on one of the
tables listed in the lobby.
- "Reserve Table" allows you to reserve a table for future play
with friends.
- The "Wait List" button allows you to queue up for a table already
full of players.
6. The "Cashier" button brings you to the secure
banking section of the site where you can view how much Play Money is in your
account or withdraw your MASSIVE winnings! Oh wait, where would you spend
it?
7. We're here to help you! Click here for our support options.
8. The "Exit" button. But you don’t want
to leave already do you?! I didn't think so.
9. The Player List will show Player ID, city and chips for
every player seated. The list will update in real time when you select a different
table. Players waiting for that particular table will also appear below the
list.
So that's The Lobby. Wasn't as bad as you thought, was it? See, I told you
it was more straightforward than it looked. Ready to take a look at The Table,
then? Okay, here goes...
THE TABLE:
There are a lot more options on this screen, and so a lot more numbers. But
I think we can manage! Let's take a look.

1. The Player buttons display each player's Player ID and
chips they have on the table. When a button lights-up, it indicates it's that
player's turn to act and displays a receding green, yellow and red animation
showing how long the player has to act.
2. This is our Poker Table. My picture used to be splashed
across it but people complained about how distracting I was, so they changed
it. I suppose we could have used a picture of me with clothes on instead,
but it wouldn't have been the same.
3. Betting action is easy to follow as chips are displayed
in neat even stacks. One stack of four $5 chips indicates a bet of $20, a
raise will be two stacks, a re-raise three stacks and a cap four stacks. The
Dealer Button tucked just beneath the stack of chips here is a flat disk indicating
the theoretical dealer of each hand. The button moves clockwise to the next
active player at the table after each hand.
4. This one is easy because if you click on “Floor
Person” you just may get to talk with me or one of the other gals, depending
on who's on duty that day. Clicking on “View Lobby” will take
you back to our Lobby. You will be able to view our Lobby and return to your
place at the table by simply clicking “Join Table”. You don’t
really want to “Leave Table” do you?
5. The “Action” button is where you Sign-in
and check Hand Histories.
6. The “Options” button opens a window that
allows you to personalize your RedlightPoker software by changing various
settings, such as Card back colours.
7. The “Sitout” button allows you to do those
very important things like pour yourself another cup of coffee, answer Nature's
Call, and whatnot, while keeping you in the game for a specified time period
before you are timed out.
8. Now this is the button I am constantly using - the “ReBuy”
which sends me to the Cashier so I may get more Chips to play with, and all
without having to leave the game!
9. Click the “Auto Post” blind box to automatically
have your blinds posted when it is your turn at the table.
10. Click the “Auto Muck” losing hands box to
automatically fold your cards at the showdown when you have a losing hand.
11. Select the “Game Transcript” Mode you prefer.
This controls how descriptive you wish the dealer to be and the ability to
silence player chat. Handy if you don't want any distractions.
12. Once you are seated at the table the Betting Action
Buttons allow you to select whether you wish to Fold, Check, Call or Raise,
including how much each of these actions will cost. In the picture I've just
joined the table halfway through a hand, so these options haven't appeared
for me yet. Come the next hand, when I'm properly joined in, they'll show
up.
13. This is where the Cashier will be reminding you how
much money you have left after each hand. I usually scurry to the Cashier
when I get down to where I don’t have enough for the next hand.
And now you've learned all there is to know about The Table! Well done! Now
what you waiting for? Go get playing!
